Today, lesbians have many helpful resources for support and information. Whether you are a lesbian, bisexual, or bi-curious individual, the following resources can provide you with advice, information, and other avenues of support:

Helplines and hotlines. Lesbian hotlines are staffed by lesbians just like you. The individuals running these hotlines can answer any questions that you may have and can also refer you to groups and organizations that can provide you with additional resources and support. The cost to these hotlines is usually toll-free. Keep in mind, however, that hotlines and helplines may operate at only certain times during the day.

Local group meetings. Many communities offer group meetings for lesbians. During these meetings, you have the opportunity to talk to other lesbians about experiences and concerns. These groups also offer great opportunities to make friends and form social connections with others within your community.

Magazines and books. The number of lesbian magazines is growing, and these publications can be great resources for information, news, and advice. Some also offer celebrity photos, stories from the experiences of other lesbians, and much more. You can now find these publications in the magazine section at mainstream bookstores, or you can subscribe to receive these magazines monthly.
Some bookstores also feature a gay/lesbian literature section, as published books that are aimed toward lesbians on lesbian experiences, conflicts, etc., are also growing in number. The authors of these books provide volumes of helpful information or compelling lesbian novels.

Websites. The Internet is virtually endless. Without much effort, you can find websites dedicated to lesbians that offer linkage to clubs or foundations, resources and reading for the unsure, location-specific websites regarding activities in your area, advocacy sites, and so much more. You can also find online chat forums and messenger services that can provide even more ways to connect with lesbians and get real-time support.

Resources for teens. There are local community groups that cater specifically to teenage lesbians. There are also teen hotlines, online social networks, and many more outlets to which teens can turn when they need advice, information, or other assistance.
With these resources available, you can seek help when you have questions or feel lost, confused, or alone.
